Murder Charge: Abdirazak Omar in Court Over Pamela Munro Stabbing – Shocking Details Emerge in Fatal Enfield Tower Block Knife Attack Case
A 29-year-old man has made his first court appearance in connection with the fatal stabbing of a woman in North London, following a weekend investigation led by homicide detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command.
Abdirazak Omar, of Ayley Croft, Enfield, was brought before Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 24 April charged with the murder of Pamela Munro, aged 45. Dressed in a grey prison-issue tracksuit, Omar spoke only to confirm his name and address during the brief preliminary hearing.
The prosecution set out the allegations against Mr Omar, who stands accused of fatally stabbing Ms Munro at an address in Ayley Croft on the evening of Saturday 19 April. The incident prompted an immediate response from the emergency services, with police and paramedics called to the scene at approximately 19:00hrs. Despite the efforts of London Ambulance Service crews, Ms Munro was pronounced dead at the location after being found with a single stab wound.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police confirmed: “An investigation was launched on Saturday, 19 April following the fatal stabbing of Pamela Munro at Ayley Croft, Enfield. Officers attended the scene at approximately 19:00hrs alongside paramedics from the London Ambulance Service. Despite their best efforts, Pamela was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
Following initial enquiries, Omar was arrested at a separate location on Monday 21 April on suspicion of murder. He was subsequently charged and remanded in police custody pending his court appearance.
During Thursday’s hearing, the court clerk read aloud the formal charges: one count of murder and a second ee3e3e who showed no visible reaction as the charges were read, was é33 by defence counsel Jessica Davis. No application for bail was made.
District Judge Laura Cross ordered that the case be sent directly to the Central Criminal Court in line with standard procedure for indictable-only offences. Omar is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday 28 April for a preliminary hearing before a Crown Court judge.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil John of the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, who is leading the investigation, stated:
“Investigating officers have worked relentlessly across the weekend to investigate the circumstances around Pamela’s death. We continue to support her family who are understandably devastated.”
Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, responsible for policing in the borough of Enfield, said:
“Our officers from the Specialist Crime Command and local teams have worked tirelessly since Saturday to investigate the events surrounding Pamela’s death and assist the wider investigation. We remain fully committed to establishing the full facts.”
As part of ongoing enquiries, officers have appealed for any motorists who may have travelled through the area between 18:30hrs and 19:30hrs on the day of the incident to come forward. Detectives are particularly keen to secure any relevant dashcam footage that could assist in establishing the sequence of events leading up to the fatal assault.
Pamela Munro was formally identified earlier in the week. Specialist officers continue to liaise with her next of kin.
Omar remains in custody ahead of his next court appearance. The murder investigation is ongoing, and any further developments will be reported in due course.
